Borage oil is used for its high content of gamma-linolenic acid, a polyunsaturated fatty acid which, besides being found in Borage oil, only occurs naturally in maternal milk, in Evening Primrose oil and in small quantities in Blackcurrant oil.
Borage oil as a dietary supplement can assist the physiological trophicity of the tissues and skin.
